Kelly Tires, the oldest tire brand in the U.S., was established in 1894. Today we're celebrating more than 115 years in the tire business and looking forward to many more.
It all began in Springfield, Ohio in 1894. Kelly Tires began production of solid-rubber carriage and buggy wheels. At the time, no one imagined that we would later become the oldest tire brand in the United States. We have been proud to offer a "Good Deal on a Great Tire" to everyday drivers for over a century now.
It's always nice to see our tires being trusted by drivers in the U.S., and it was especially nice to see that President William Howard Taft had his carriage equipped with none other than Kelly Tires.
It wasn't long before some of the bigger tire companies took notice. We were introduced to the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company in 1935. They liked our "Good Deal on a Great Tire" philosophy so much that they bought Kelly Tires, and that's when we began operating as a wholly owned subsidiary.
By the early 1990s, we became fully absorbed by the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company and made the move to Akron, Ohio. Today Kelly Tires is proud to call Akron "home."
Beginning in 2010, Kelly Tires made the exciting jump from limited distribution to nationwide sales. That's why today you can get a good deal on a great tire all across the U.S.
